This Poplar tree was covered by a Tree Preservation order (TPO) by Basildon Council and once the application for works was agreed, the next stage of planning works begun.
Poplar tree branches are quite brittle, and the upper crown of this Poplar was not overly thick or strong in the upper crown. Taking this in mind, alongside other factors such as surrounding trees and shrubs, fences, and a lovely summerhouse directly below, a narrow access mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) was hired in to make the job safer and giving the climber more control whilst works were carried out.
Once the MEWP was carefully taken into the garden and setup the team reduced the height and shaped the Poplar. These works reduced the windsail and weight within the upper crown and therefore reducing the risks of branches breaking in high winds. 💚🌳
